NecromancerRhino Wraith
Rhino Wraith is a mobile PvP Necromancer built around constant movement, Bone Spirits pressure, Fear/Decay control, and sustained debuff damage. It dives into fights, disrupts enemy positioning, stays attached long enough for its effects to ramp, then uses Corpse Lance to finish weakened targets.

How the build plays
How to play it
Play aggressively, but in short controlled engagement cycles. Activate Bone Armor before committing, keep Bone Spirits active as you move into range, and use Bone Spikes/Bone Beast to disrupt, chase, or reposition. Stay close enough to keep pressure on controlled targets, then use Corpse Lance when corpses are available and enemies are already softened up.
Rotation & priority
- Bone Armor → Bone Spirits → Bone Spikes/Bone Beast → maintain pressure/control → Corpse Lance → Soulfire during downtime → disengage/reposition → repeat
- Priority is:
- Stay protected with Bone Armor.
- Keep Bone Spirits affecting your target.
- Use Bone Beast for mobility and disruption.
- Maintain Fear, Decay, slows, and other harmful effects.
- Use Corpse Lance as a finisher.
- Use Soulfire while waiting on cooldowns.
Positioning
- Rhino Wraith performs best at close-to-mid range, especially around objectives, choke points, and grouped enemies. Avoid standing still or playing like a traditional back-line Necromancer. Move around the edge of the enemy group, dive in when your defensive tools are ready, pressure priority targets, and exit before you are caught without Bone Armor or mobility.
- Use Bone Beast to reposition enemies, break through lines, or stay attached to a target rather than simply charging straight into the middle of the enemy team.
Strengths
- Excellent mobility, strong objective pressure, layered crowd control, sustained harmful-effect pressure, good survivability while actively engaging, and strong synergy between movement, Fear/Stun effects, and the current legendary gem setup.
- It is especially effective against clustered teams and players who cannot easily escape repeated close-range pressure.
Weaknesses
- Requires close-range commitment to reach full effectiveness, relies heavily on good engagement timing, and can be punished hard if defensive cooldowns are unavailable. Corpse Lance also depends on corpse availability, so finishing power can vary from fight to fight.
- The build is more dependent on positioning and timing than raw button execution.
Counters
- The build struggles most against heavy control immunity, frequent cleanses, strong disengage tools, and ranged players who can repeatedly create distance. It is also vulnerable when caught without Bone Armor or after overcommitting too deep into enemy territory.
- Tanky targets that can absorb sustained pressure without giving you a good Corpse Lance window can also slow the build down considerably.
Substitutions
- For a safer version, replace one offensive option with additional survivability or control protection.
- For more aggressive pressure, favor effects that increase damage against debuffed or controlled enemies.
- The 2-piece Shepherd’s Call to Wolves is the first set bonus I would consider replacing unless testing confirms Bone Beast actually benefits from summon damage. A 2-piece set that adds survivability, harmful-effect value, or general PvP damage would likely contribute more consistently.
- For legendary gems, keep the core pieces that directly support movement, continuous damage, control, and harmful effects. Lower-rank gems can be swapped first as stronger options become available.
Creator notes
Rhino Wraith is designed to feel different from a standard Necromancer build. The goal is not to sit at maximum range and cast from safety—it is to become a moving control zone that forces enemies to react.
The build rewards patience inside the fight. Do not immediately disengage after the first charge. Let Bone Spirits, Fear, Decay, and your gem effects build pressure, then transition into Corpse Lance when a target becomes vulnerable.
The biggest difference between average and strong play with Rhino Wraith is knowing when to stay in and when to leave.
